Need a recommendation for restaurant somewhere between Tarzana and Sherman Oaks for Friday night

We're looking for a place that's quiet enough for easy conversation for a party of six. One of the party said she would like a place where the menu has some good vegetarian options and not too spicy.

Price wise we're pretty flexible.

Thanks!

Stanley's, on Ventura blvd. in Sherman Oaks. Should meet all your requirements. very pleasant courtyard patio, as well as interior seating. Nice place (nicer than the somewhat pedestrian name implies, in my opinion)...

I would suggest Cafe Bizou on Ventura. It should be a fairly quiet place; French food isn't spicy and, although I'm not familiar with their menu offhand, I'm sure they have vegetarian options.

There is nothing quiet about Cafe Bizou, especially on a Friday night.
Not even the patio in back.
Stanley's is a much better option of the two, assuming you are willing to sit in a very large patio with lots of trees and plants, yet only modest noise, and at least equal food.

Ok...I have a lousy sense of direction....but does Woodland HIlls fall into the "zone?" Brandywine is lovely....and quiet enough to actually talk.

Nope, Woodland Hills is west of the area and in Fri traffic could take 45 mins, to get to.

There are a few Middle Eastern restaurants along Ventura, in SO and Tarzana, that would work. Shirazz- though I've only been to their Glendale location, great kebobs and vegetarian options.

Hummus Bar in Tarzana would have some great vegetarian options along with grilled meats for the others.

Their website states, their Encino location is opened DAILY from 12pm-11pm. Unless, they use a different dictionary than I do, they are open on Fridays.

I believe their location in Israel is closed on Fri.

I guess that's why Hummus Bar & Grill is a mad house on Friday nights...

silence9's suggestion of Stanley's isn't a bad one, but it can get a bit loud on a friday night with the bar and all.

agree with Hummus Bar and Grill. there's also Al-Cazar in Encino.

there's also Carnival in Sherman Oaks that's tends not to get too loud.

for Italian, Oliva on Van Nuys, or my less favorite option, but freeway adjacent, Cucina Bene.

also Boneyard Bistro has a risotto and some veggie side dishes and starters. maybe not quiet enough though.

one last suggestion for french - La Frite in Sherman Oaks or Woodland Hills.

Gio Cucina would be good for you. It is small but not very noisy. They have many items that would be considered vegitarian and alays a bunch of soups that are vegetarian and non dairy.
It is on Ventura Blvd a few blocks west of the 405.

Excellent suggestion, chuck. I'd forgotten about that one. Although small, it shouldn't be too noisy or crowded.

Il Terimisu on Ventrua at Woodman is very good Italian with a variety of choices. Its a nice quiet atmoshphere and full bar.
