Mexican cooking supplies in San Francisco?

I'd like to buy a tortilla press and some other items. Rather than spend at Williams-Sonoma, I'd like to know where Mexican immigrants go for their kitchen needs. Somewhere in the heart of the Mission?

  1. La Palma Mexicatessen or New Mission City near 22nd St/Mission?

La Palma is great. There is another grocery on 24th Street, a block or two west of La Palma (it's been a few years since I was there and I can't remember the name, sorry!) that has all kinds of stuff, including bulk beans and dried chiles. That's where I got my tortilla press.

Sounds like you're thinking of Casa Lucas Market.

            Thank you.

      2. The Mission isn't that Mexican compared to your choices north of the Gate if you're still in the Petaluma area.
