Does anyone know where I can buy paneer cheese other than Whole Foods in the Capitol Hill area?

MOM's carries paneer. Not sure if they have any locations in the Capitol Hill area.

I saw it at Roots today, too. I know that's out of your range, hillrat, but posting in case someone else might want to know. They also have Heini's raw milk cheddar cheese, in case anyone is interested. It's pretty tasty.

I know this is not on the hill, but not far from DC: It's a veggie Indian place I got packaged paneer (made there) at a couple of years ago.

If you are ambitious, it is very easy to make. You can probably do a google search to find an easy recipe.

ambition is the least of worries as it's ridiculously easy, but the question was where to buy, I'd say call Aatish on Penn or the Indian place on 8th SE. they'll probably laugh (since it really IS so easy) but may very well sell you some.

I have, the cheese monger there doesn't carry it, neither does the Yes! Market around the corner. Thanks for the suggestion though!
