Best tenderloin, south side of Indinapolis

Arriving at Indy airport around noon. Heading SE to Cincinnati. Looking for the best tenderloin on the south side. By the time we get our bags and a car would prefer not to have to drive too far toward Cincinnati before we have lunch.

Recommendations appreciated. Thanks

This may be too far for you (about an hour from the airport) but we always stop at the Cow Palace - I get a tenderloin and a turtle sundae and feel pretty happy.

No, it isn't. Since he's driving from Indy Airport to Cincinnati, Shelbyville is right on the way, right off I-74.

Thanks to all who have responded. We may try to make Shelbyville. If all flights are on schedule we may be able to do it. If there are any hitches then it might make for a fairly late lunch. Bottom line though is that I want to thank all who took the time to contribute.

        Regards

Thanks. My error in posting. Should have specified pork sandwich. A stupid assumption on my part that everyone would know what I meant. Sorry.

Take a look at the recommendations in the links I added to my last post...

I would encourage you to be willing to consider restaurants in downtown Indianapolis. For one reason, it's really not very far out of the way between the airport and I-74 towards Cinci, and will add no more than 5-10 minutes to your total travel time at mid-day. And for another reason, the biggest concentrations of nicer restaurants in Indianapolis are downtown and in neighborhoods and towns north of there.

Unfortunately, many of the best Indy restaurants specializing in steak - including Peterson's, St. Elmo's, and Eddie Merlot's - are not open for lunch. But Capital Grille is, and is right downtown.

Bein' an old Indiana gal once myself, I'll bet he meant pork tenderloin!

            Oops - sorry!

There are some recommendations for pork tenderloins in Indy in these topics:

            http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/782912
            http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/707657

The latter also has a link to a blog that discusses pork tenderloins:

            http://breadedtenderloin.wordpress.com

Beware, the first place reviewed on that blog is on the south side but it's a strongly negative review.
