Sixpoint beer for sale in Boston?

KarenAtHome Jun 14, 2011 01:54 PM

I've heard that the Sixpoint cans are available in Boston, but I haven't seen them around yet. Does anyone know where they are for sale? I'm willing to make the drive for Sweet Action!

I just picked up 2, 4 packs at Downtown Wine & Spirits in Davis Sq. They have some left including Sweet Action. Hurry or I'll take them all before you get there :)

This is awesome - a neighbor of mine mentioned how great this stuff is.

Thanks for the tips! I'll be out to buy some tomorrow. Just finished off the last can I imported from Brooklyn.

Both Wine Emporiums in the South End have Six Point Cans

Liquor World in Porter Square has had the Sweet Action, Bengali Tiger, and Crisp Lager in stock recently.

10 bucks per 4-pack at Boston Wine Exchange. I grabbed two.

I've seen it at Downtown Liquors as well as Cambridge Wine & Spirits at Fresh Pond. Seems like it's got a following, though I didn't realize it was worth seeking out -- is it especially good brew?

I've only tried the Righteous [Rye] Ale, and it's excellent. Hoppy, dry, with spicy grain flavors--it'll be a go-to for me this summer.

I just wish it weren't quite as expensive as it is. At about $11 a 6pk (equivalent), it's open to a whole lot of competition.

Haven't tried any of the cans that have been showing up recently - which I believe may have been contract brewed - which may not be a bad thing in Sixpoint's case..

But as far as Sixpoint is considered in terms of quality, their beers have been very hit or miss on tap in Boston over the years. Also many "relaunches" for their beer in the area only to disappear for months when they can't keep up with demand.

Not exactly the answer you're looking for but I had it on tap last weekend at The Horseshoe Pub in Hudson. They had both Bengali Tiger and Gemini flowing on Sunday.

I picked up a 4-pack of Sweet Action at Bauer Wines on Newbury St. today. They also had Bengali Tiger and Crisp Lager.
