Low Country (Seafood) Boil

I normally make mine with a sachet of seafood boil and water as the cooking liquid...but I've got this keg of beer I'm trying to use up- any ideas on how much would be a good amount to add? My freezer can't handle anymore beer bread!

When I boil shrimp, I use 12oz. beer and 12 oz. water for 1 pound of shrimp, so basically 1:1 if that helps any!

Thats what we do to...1:1 ratio and seafood boil .
Another great use for beer that I learned from mamachef here on chowhound is pot roast with onions and beer....to die for

Thanks to you both! I will do the 1:1 ratio. And I have a roast in the freezer dying to be thawed, so I will try it with the beer! Do you have a link to that recipe, or was it just a little of this, a little of that kind of thing?

it was just instruction....sear off your roast...cut up two or three onions in slices and throw in the casserole dish ...put roast on top then some beer ...roast until done. It is addicting.
