We'll be in Portland at the tail end of June. We hope to catch some good deals using the Portland Dining Month specials. There are so many good choices. We need some help to narrow it down.

Ah, sorry. We're staying at Hotel Fifty. We have a car. We like everything from fine dining to local dives. We enjoy most ethnic food, but like to sample regional cuisine when we travel. When in Rome...

I recently gave you some suggestions on another thread but have had wonderful experiences since then at two Portland restaurants. The Farm Cafe seems to focus on seafood and vegetarian. The menu is still quite varied; our party of four found plenty of interesting dishes and flavors to share. A very, very pleasant dining experience that I would highly recommend
. Last night four of us went to Meriwether on Vaughn Street. They grow many of their own veggies and the menu reflected what is coming into season locally. Solid but innovative choices made it a real stand out. Definitely left knowing that we had enjoyed some of the best that our wonderful region has to offer! You haven't asked, but I'd also recommend checking out the Teardrop Lounge in the Pearl. Go in when they open at 4 and the great folks behind the bar will have time to visit and make suggestions (they'll even create something unique for you on the spot). Some of the best cocktails you are going to find anywhere! Hope you have a wonderful few days in our area. Looking forward to hearing your take on what you encounter.
