Restaurant near Harvard....or between Harvard and BU

  • 5

taking 2 week course at BU and will be walking to Harvard this afternoon to see the university and grab some dinner. Any suggestions for casual dining?

  1. Izzy's Sub Shop, is more casual than casual dining but sure is yummy. They offer a selection of Purto Rican food. It is a couple blocks east of MIT.

    1. Russell House Tavern right in the middle of the square is one choice.

      1. if your not drinking, Cafe Baraka or Basta Pasta are both very good, very inexpensive.

        1. If you're in a burger mood. Mr and Mrs Bartley's Burger Cottage is a classic Harvard Sq. experience. Some on the board are not fans of the griddled thick burger, but the show is good and I really like the burger. Nice charred crusty outside, good flavor inside.

          1. Russell House Tavern (Harvard) or Green St (Central Square) are both good casual places - food is better IMO at Russell House, drinks are definitely better at Green St. I also like Cambridge 1 (Harvard) for pizza, and Tamarind Bay for Indian (Harvard Square). For something very casual and cheap, but very tasty, Clover in Harvard Square does sandwiches, salads, fries, and beer.
