A Chowhound challenge: autistic family friendly dining near Everett

It's an understatement to say that taking a four-year-old with Aspergers out to any restaurant is challenging. He's a good kid, my son, but there are moments where dining-out takes on all the appeal of a root canal sans anesthesia. I think in the four months that I've been back in the PNW, we've exhausted nearly every delivery and drive-through place in the area. I'm tired of speaking in the boxes, looking up at menu boards, and meeting delivery boys at the door. I, no, we need some suggestions. I hope, dear Chowhounds, that someone would have some recommendations as to family-friendly, inexpensive dining options in and around the greater Everett area. Nearly anything goes, one thing my son and daughters are not is picky. Please, please, please consider my plea. My sanity and taste buds thank you.

    1. Yeh Yeh's in Lynnwood for banh mi (get it with a fried egg on top!) :)

      1. Taco Guayamos Y Mas. IMO, the food is some of the best Mexican in the area. The seating area is large and spacious. Very friendly. I've enjoyed everything on the menu, but my favorite is the tortilla soup. They have low-key live music on weekends.
PLEASE NOTE: there are several Mexican places with similar names -- some are not good. Taco Guayamos Y Mas is located next to the Lynnwood Conference Center on 196th St. Park in the strip mall behind the restaurant. 3805 196th Street SW, Lynnwood (425) 771-4630

Redline Burger in Lynnwood. I love the burgers. They serve fresh cut fries. No milkshakes. The place is small, but never very crowded. There's a TV, but it's not loud. It's fast food, but good fast food.

Scott's Bar & Grill in Edmonds. This is a big full service restaurant with a large menu. The food is quite good and very consistent. We take big groups of relatives to Scott's because everyone likes it. The service is very friendly and accommodating. If you ask them about special needs for seating or anything else, they will bend over backwards.

They are not open yet... but look for Gabriel's Fire to open in Mountlake Terrace. (His Seattle location is closed.) I really like the ribs and brisket.

        1. Szechuan 99 is family friendly in Lynnwood. The house made tofu dishes are worth a trip. Other dishes I really like are: chicken with small peppers, seafood delight, Szechuan chicken, Szechuan 99 tofu, red pepper chicken, Szechuan 99 smoking pork, ma po tofu, and the dish with sliced beef served over a bowl of napa cabbage.
