Stuffed Banana Peppers

I had stuffed banana peppers as an app in Buffalo, NY a while ago and have been craving it ever since. It's not served with marinara - I'm remembering ground meat and creamy cheese? Anyone have any recipes? Can't remember the name of the restaurant.

I remember having this in Pittsburgh ( my ex's mom used to make it and I love it), but it's a bit different.
You stuff banana peppers with ground beef (s&p) and place in a casserole dish. Top with marinara. Bake.
Load the top with mozzarella and put under broiler until bubbly.
The cream cheese sounds great! This is added to the meat stuffing?

I've had them at the Blackthorn Pub in S. Buffalo, and I've been trying to figure out the recipe for awhile. I've tried bulk pork sausage seasoned with parmesan and cream cheese and it's pretty good, but not the same.
