Single woman for dinner Sunday night

looking for somewhere TriBeCa or soho that I would feel comfortable on my own, entertaining and great food. Was thinking of torrisi Italian. Is it too hard to get in? Any other suggestions. Prefer small plates or tasting menu. All cuisines but probably avoid Asian. Thanks.

  1. Just show up at 5:40pm for Torrisi and you'll be OK. Not really all that entertaining though for a solo diner as there is no real bar scene there.

Personally I'd try for the bar at Locanda Verde or Osteria Morini.

    1. hi katnat,

-- consider Shorty's .32 on Prince St...great place for solo dining, nice staff...cozy Soho local place w/ really good quality ingredients -- sort of an American bistro-style cuisine (the kind of place that's all over Seattle and Vancouver)...

-- i'd also rec DBGB in Noho...sausages, oysters, nice butter lettuce salad, yummy desserts, wonderful charming bartenders

Enjoy, and let us know where you went :)

      1. there are very few places in NYC that a solo diner is not welcomed as well as any other customer
