What's your definition of "within driving distance"? 1/2 hour?

Petey's in Rye...although it's on a bulkie roll instead of the traditional hot dog roll.

I always enjoyed them from Ceals in Seabrook but I haven't been in years.

Had our first Petey's lobster roll Memorial Day weekend and it was definitely good. The roll is a sandwich roll but not as thick as a bulkie roll. They also still toast the roll and if they didn't, it wouldn't be as good.

We were disappointed with our lobster rolls from the Ice House in Newcastle last Sunday. The lobster was very cold and the hot dog rolls seemed very whimpy, maybe a cheap brand. Tasted ok but didn't hold up very well.

I agree on Petey's they also have terrific clam chowder and fried clams. Enjoy. Plus just for lobster rolls, just north on 1A from Hampton Beach is the Beach Plum, a seaside type ice cream joint but very good lobster rolls.

Another vote for Petey's. Don't miss their chowder either.

We planned on going to Petey's for seafood. Perhaps we'll make a second trip for the lobster rolls. Thanks.

Jeremy, that's a very nicely-done blog you've got there. Fun to read your comments that go along with the recipes.
