Live Maine Lobsters
Any suggestions where to get live Maine (not Pacific) lobsters either (i) to bring home and steam or (ii) at restaurants serving?
Convenient for us, we were happy to discover them at certain Fry's grocery stores - those that have a tank. They fly them in certain times of the year weekly and you can call ahead if you want anything bigger than 1-3/4 lbs and they will order. They're usually about $15/pound (ouch) but we buy them when they they intermittently go on "sale" for $9.99/lb; often around the holidays here. Some Albertson's have them in tanks too but we haven't found any bigger than 1-1/2 lbs; Fry's usually has a little larger.
I'm a New England transplant so some favorites in addition to classic steamed or boiled (man, I really miss steamers too!) are those below. All lobsters I've cooked up since we moved here in these pics have been from Fry's:
Pan-roasted with cognac, and Newburg
I've only been for Happy Hour with CH drewb123 (and really liked it) but Eddie's House is on my list for their Maine lobster specials (such as currently).

Thanks troublemakers. Now starving! CiaoGal once mentioned that Taylor's Chowder House has fried clams sometimes, though I haven't been yet. Not the same, but she says it's the closest she's found in Phoenix and they claim to use Ipswich clams.
