Can any one tell me what the big manufactures of MSG are extracting from to produce their product. I know that it naturally occurs in seaweed and mushrooms, among other ingredients, and I heard a rumor that it was being produced from corn. Anyone knows?

    It's mainly made by bacterial fermentation.
