Trying to Remember: Diner-like restaurant, free fresh-baked muffins, near Rodondo Beach

There's some restaurant I went to about 2 years ago.

It was 0-10 miles from Long Beach (I think)

They had *really good* muffins, which came (I think) free with any order, and they were fresh and delicious.

They had really good breakfast foods.

It looked kind of like a big IHOP or Dennys on the inside (lots of wood panels and stuff)

Any ideas?

I think you're thinking of Ocean Diner on Aviation Blvd. in the Hermosa/Redondo border area. They make the best fresh muffins that come free with your breakfast, and they have a different muffin everyday-- everything from pumpkin to peach to pear to apple...really good stuff! Kind of a California style healthy diner eatery

The description makes me think of Uncle Bill's Pancake House in Manhattan Beach. Ocean Diner is decorated very 40's retro, while Uncle Bills was obviously once a private home and has more of a 60's IHOP vibe. And good freshly baked muffins.

A long time ago (before the Hermosa Pier granite paveover), there was a few restaurants called Uncle Roys, Unky Roys and other versions. They had fantastic muffins!!

The best since (and actually better) is Ocean Diner ... On Aviation Blvd, across the street and up the hill from ET Surf.
