Craving for Pambazo

PambazoHound Jun 10, 2011 10:25 PM

Ever since La Cocina de Maria closed, I havent been able to satisfy my craving for Pambazos.

Any suggestions for other places in the San Diego area.

Thanks PambazoHound.

This is the best info I could find from the OC Weekly (Orange County):

They're on the menu at Ranas.

I'm pretty sure I had one at Ranas and I'd remember if it was horrible so i'm guessing it was halfway decent.

I havent been there in a while tho so I'm not sure if its still all that and a bag of chips. I remember liking the mole which is not on the menu so you gotta ask for that one.

If only they'd ditch the florescent lights.

You guys are amazing. I sense after all there is a Pambazo in my near future. kriot: thanks for the mole tip.

Please report back if you get to Ranas. Never had a pambazo and I'm intrigued.

                Pambazos are awesome!

Its street food, like a "torta" with potato, but not a torta, hard to describe. The best one i've had in California is in Redwood City (SF bay area) at Casita Chilanga. Its been a while since i've been there so dont hold me to it but it was realy good last time.
