Birmingham: Chez Fon Fon Wins Best Burger

Back when Highlands still did lunch I thought they had the best, high dollar burger in B'ham.

Of course that was during the city's paleolithic era.

At that time Mr. Gratton was still alive and on the grill at Green Acre's which held the cheap, flat top burger crown.

Hamburger Heaven's mystifying popularity would've carried them to the title had it come down to a popular vote.

Where are y'all getting your burgers these days?

Did Chez Fon Fon deserve the crown?

  1. Fon Fon absolutely deserved the win. If they have a contest for best fries, it ought to win that as well.

Yes, it was interesting to see the difference between the popular vote and the judges' choices. I always find it depressing when some fast-food chain -- even a revered local chain like HH -- is chosen "best" over something made with top quality ingedients by those who know how to bring out the best in the flavors.
Now if only Chen's and Red Pearl could win some "best Chinese" awards.

    2. Obvious choice. Been saying it for years.
