Nashville - celebration spot, breakfast, casual Southern
We are looking forward to a special family weekend in Nashville. We love to experience a place through local flavors and favorite spots. We will be celebrating our youngest's 8th birthday and she has requested a "fancy restaurant with table cloths". Our children are restaurant trained, but we'd like to take them somewhere where we wouldnt feel too out of place. Grandma and Grandpa are also along and my father in law is a traditional meat and potatoes kind of guy so we'll need to stick to Southern/American/Steak/BBQ kind of places.
So in summary, we need a nicer, celebration type restaurant, great breakfast places, and casual Southern comfort spots for lunch or dinner.
Thank you in advance for your help!

A great hidden lunch spot is Barbara's Home Cookin (i'm not craziy about the dropped "g") 1232 Old Hillsboro Road. You might miss it if your not paying attention in a little wood frame house just off Hillsboro Road. Great southern classics - fried chicken, veggies, and incredible rolls....don't forget the desserts, too.

Monells' might suit you, but it's family style eating. If you want a table to yourselves, try Southern Bred.
