Birthday cake in Triangle area, NC

I'm relatively new to the area and looking for the best birthday cake in the Raleigh/Durham/Cary area. Doesn't have to be fancy. Just looking for old fashioned, light, delicious sheet cake. Doesn't even have to look like the first prize winner in a Food Network cake decoration show. Any thoughts?

Costco makes great sheet cakes (especially for the price). If we're serving a lot of people at a birthday party, we rely on Costco's cakes.

Fancier cakes can be found all around, but I highly suggest Guglhupf or Daisy Cakes in Durham.

I've heard that people like the sheet cakes from the Nantucket Grill. If you do want to go with a fancier, more show-stopping cake, I might go with something from Scratch Bakery in Durham or Hayes Barton Cafe in Raleigh..
