Does anyone know what is happening @ Lahore Karahi?

I just read on Eater SF that Lahore Karahi has a sign on the door stating they are doing "take out orders only". What happened? Why? Eater seems to imply this could be the beginning of the end
for Guddu.

Anybody know?

  1. a yelp review mentions that his server quit; so perhaps it's temporary until he finds a new server?

although ordering those sizzling tandoori dishes for takeout just won't be the same as when they're delivered sizzling to the table

    1. noooooooooooooo

      1. I was at Lahore yesterday for lunch, I don't quite understand what the signage was about.

I phoned in my order as usual and ate it in the restaurant. Most of the other tables were full at lunch time. It was crowded and people were whining about the long wait.

I didn't see the usual cooks around though. No sign of Mr Malik - the reluctant and moody waiter.

Food was good as usual, I ordered chicken seekh kebab, chicken karahi and aloo paratha.

FWIW - I did read some disturbing reviews on the *other* site about unsanitary conditions though.

        1. he's been out a server for a while now, so you order at the counter before you sit.

Update - Lahore is now open only from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM - Wednesday through Sunday. No more lunch service, as I discovered today.
