Vegetable First Course?

pickypicky Jun 9, 2011 08:07 AM

I love being able to order a simple, real vegetable for first course (ie. sauteed broccoli rabe with guanciale and chili) Any place in SD doing vegetable first courses -- or even just doing great veg-- which come from beautiful produce?

Was talking to a friend of mine yesterday who raved about a veggie dinner he had a few nights ago at Spread. He was very impressed by the quality of the produce.

Thanks all. I should have been a bit more specific. What I'm after are Italian style first courses where a single vegetable is the star, like what I had at Delfina, Delfina Pizzaria, and other Italian restaurants in SF. (The obligatory artichoke is a representative of what I mean.) It only works if the produce is great and prep is perfect.
