The Galley Santa Monica

Anyone been lately? Still great clams?

The food is pretty much the same as it always has been, and there was a time, a long time ago when it was pretty good - relatively speaking. Get that? The same, it's just that now, generally, food is much better than it was, say in the '50's, '60's or '70's.

Would love to buy the place and just...upgrade the food. Would be so easy to do. Weird why some restaurants stay stuck. Maybe they don't want to rock the boat with their old customers.

I've been. I think it's pretty cruddy... unimpressive food and overpriced. I would go for drinks or something for the fun decor, but... man. I went recently. Far better is the shellfish around the corner at Enterprise seafood Co. (clams and/or mussels), especially at happy hour, when either is just $6.95.

went there years ago..i think the place lives on how good it once was...which i question...for a place that says it has great stakes..it dosen't...

for the same kind of ambience...chez jay does a much better job...
