New restaurants in Morristown

I have worked in Morristown for over 25 years. It seems that many small and mid-size businesses have left the downtown. However, I cannot help but notice a flood of new restaurants on South Street.

Japanese - Wabi-Sabi and Aikou join Nagano and Sushi Lounge
American- Urban Table, JK's Steakhouse, Roots, Todd Michael (I think), a new bakery.
Italian- Tomato Pie looks to be opening near Jersey Boy Bagel

Is there enough population/business to support all these new restaurants?

Have you tried them?

I ate at Urban Table. Food is good, service trying hard, but it is expensive. You will drop $15+ per person.
Not an every day outing.

Sushi Lounge

Aikou
63 Reaville Ave, Flemington, NJ 08822

I have not tried any of these yet. I'm not a fan of Japanese, so that's out. The other American is David Todd's City, down on South St. That's the only one I've really been wanting to try.

Fwiw David Todd's got a "Don't Bother" review in the NYT, Paul...of course that was a couple of months ago--but FYI.

Yes. I saw that. That was right after it opened. Recent reports have been much more favorable, especially on Open Table. I'll let you know, if I get there.
