Union Square area "quick bite"

Any suggestions for a "fast food" type of place in the Union Square area? Going to see a movie and will be looking for something to eat around 8:30 or so. We don't want to have a traditional sit-down, waiter service meal. We'd rather have something we can order form a counter and then sit and eat at a table. All types of cuisines are fine. Outside of the usual chains, any good suggestions? Thanks.

the request was not for a top tier NYC excellence, but a fast decent quick meal. ive had more than decent noodles there, and their faux bahn mi is quite tasty as well. not every meal need be per se, and there is a lot of good between per se and mcdonalds

i personally think Republic is worse than McDonalds, and i wouldn't eat at McDonalds if someone paid me...to each their own...

Had you thought about Dogmatic? I've only been there once but I thought the lamb sausage with truffle gruyere sauce was pretty darned tasty. Quirky place in an appealing way.

We have one in Hoboken but I've yet to try it. Sitting at the counter is not a problem. Thanks.

I LOVE Maoz (more for the red baby eggplant and other fixings than the falafel itself, although the falafel is no slouch), but just for future reference, there is very very VERY little seating/counter space there. I usually take it out to the park or something. (Now, if there were a Taim location closer to Union Square, the falafel options would be even more awesome.)
