Taiwanese Noodles

wherejessate Jun 7, 2011 07:08 PM

I'm originally from Vancouver and there are a lot of Taiwanese (beef) noodle restaurants, but ever since I moved here (several years ago...), I've had a huge craving for these noodles. Any recommendations?

I know that the owners of Asian Legend are Taiwanese and recall they had a good beef noodle dish on the menu. It might fit the bill.

If you live in Scarborough, the plaza at Midland and Finch also have them.

Still find Oriental Cafe the most enjoyable, albeit the noodles itself are unimpressive. Had Wei's yesterday, the noodles were severely overcooked, the broth was decent. Their standout is the "stinky stinky pot" stinky tofu with pig blood cake.

My inlaws (from Taiwan) go to Asian Legend for beef noodles - best location is at Sheppard/Brimley, also try the beef noodle soup with green tea noodles at Ten Ren tea shop on Highway 7 west of West Beaver Creek.

Just tried it at the Asian Legend sheppard/brimley. It uses beef brisket and the broth is spicy.

I like the version at "Jun Jun" at sheppard/glen watford. The broth has more chinese herbs. But it uses beef shank.
