Great restaurant for dinner with boyfriend. Not too expensive (under $40pp not including alcohol)

I am looking for a good restaurant to go to with my bf for tomorrow night. I would prefer the upper east side but am willing to travel a little. Food and ambiance are important. He prefers no asian or italian food (he said he is just not in the mood for that right now). Other than that everything else goes. I would prefer seafood and he eats everything. I dont drink alcohol so that is not important to me. I dont want to break the bank tomorrow because this is kind of a normal date night but I am just looking for something new and most of the great restaurants I know are Italian.

have you been to Beyoglu? good Turkish/Mediterranean food.

the new wine bar Kaia seems to be getting good buzz as well, you could share a few small plates.

and Sojourn is always a safe bet.
