Charleston SC-----Great place to eat alone at the bar

kbdowdell01 Jun 6, 2011 06:39 PM

Traveling alone to Charleston SC. Looking for a restaurant that has bar service and specializes in seafood. Cost is not important to me. Looking for good food based on local recipes and made from fresh local ingredients

I would have no problem at Hanks, Charleston Grill, Planters Inn or Mercado.

Rather than the bar, consider the chef's table at SNOB,. Better entertainment to check what's going on in the kitchen rather than looking at a row of bottles ...

I concur, except I think JB means Peninsula Grill.

I would look at Husk and FIG.

You are right I did mean Peninsula Grill. I forgot about Fig and Husk. Both are great places also.

Another great place is the upstairs bar at Cypress, where you go to see and be seen :D

I also like Hank's. Other good ones are Amen Street and Pearlz. Good local seafood at all of them.

We just ate at McCrady's and I noticed a list of bar snacks (served only at the bar) which were phenomenal looking. It was a nice bar, too. Our dinner was top-notch so I would recommend anything there.
