Breakfast/Brunch in Boston
Just moved here and a friend is meeting me in town for breakfast/brunch this Saturday. Price point: can fork over some cash but would prefer not to break the bank. Thanks!

Do you have a preference for neighborhood? If "in town" encompasses the Back Bay, I think Brasserie Jo does a good pricey, but not break-the-bank, breakfast.

East Coast Grill isn't open for Saturday brunch. Just Sunday.

I just gotta second Soundbites, they really are quite yummy and pretty cheap! Go for the stuffed french toast, I had one with goat cheese and pears (I think it was a special) and it was simply amazing.

Sel De La Terre has brunch on Saturdays (many places only do Sunday Brunch) and it is quite good.

Be aware that late on Saturday morning, the annual gay Pride parade will limit parking and access in parts of the Back Bay and the South End.

It will be crazy all day in the South End and Back Bay.

Thanks all!
Have any of you been to the Paramount on Beacon Hill? I'm hoping that might take us away from all the craziness in Back Bay & South End.

Paramount is a favorite but not ideal for catching up with a friend because of the counter ordering system and the fact you can't really linger. Expect crazy lines on weekends too, even though they move quickly (again, you can't linger).
I'd head across the street to Beacon Hill Bistro -- lovely room and solid, reasonably priced brunch.

Good advice given to avoid the paramount on weekends. Great place for breakfast which is served thru the day.

We've had brunch at Bistro du Midi a couple of times and really enjoyed it. Elegant, but not too horribly expensive, good people watching out the front window, and the pancakes are amazing, as is the Croque Monsieur.

People watching might be even better as BduM is at epicenter of the gay pride rally and associated raucous parties.
