Lunch for 5 days around the Palais

Hi all!

I am obliged to spend 5 days or so around the Palais des Congrès and I need recommendations for where to eat lunch/dinner. Anything goes, so long as it's good and not super $ and within a 20 minute walk or so. Has anyone tried Miss Pret a Manger?

Update: I tried Miss Pret a Manger and it was by far the best lunch of the week. For about 17$, I got a great grilled bavette that came roast potatoes, grilled asperagus with a selection of bread with a really nice brown butter and a nice local beer. Incredible value. The feel of the place is great - very casual but not inattentive. I love this place.

I know Sumo Ramen does not get a lot of love here, but we were quite happy with our lunches there :) It too is in Chinatown

After doing the ramen at Le Faubourg food court, it is impossible to ever return to Sumo Ramen. Just try it =D

Your right in Chinatown, but I'm sure you won't want to eat chinese everyday. Within 15min. you'll be able to reach Brits and Chips, on McGill. Don't know where your from, but right accross from them, Five Guys burger open a couple of weeks ago. Olive & Gourmando in Old Montreal is not too far off to.

I'm from here (Plateau) but this area is not my usual stomping ground. Totally don't want to eat Chinese every day. I tend to go to China Town 2 for my fix, can anyone tell me the best of the best in China town for hot pot or just regular Cantonese?

          Thanks!

For Hot Pot, try Little Sheep Mongolian hot pot on the corner of Clark and La Gauchetiere. A Chain from asia.

Have you tried this restaurant Jaetee? If so, what is the food like? I walked in one time but was a little put off by a) a very weird smell permeating the room and b) basically being ignored by all wait staff and servers. We walked out without being seated

The Casual Eats column of the Gazette this weekend reviewed Miss Pret a Manger very favourably

I will certainly try it out and report back. I always walk past it just about at closing time. Oh yeah, I almost forgot the new fish and chips place!

That's Chinatown, there's plenty of cheap lunch eats...

            Restaurant Beijing
            Mon Nan Village
            Keung Kee
            Niu Kee
            Maison VIP
            Kam Fung (dim sum)

Or you could head into Old Montreal (O+G, Titanic, etc)
