Pulled Pork in SC or GA?
I will be in SC (Charleston and Hilton Head areas) and GA (Savannah area) and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good place for pulled pork?

As usual, Sue in Mt. P. gives good advice here. If you are near Charleston on a Friday or Saturday, I strongly recommend the small road trip to Sweatman's (on a country highway between Holly Hill and Eutawville) if you are serious about getting the good stuff.

I live in Walterboro, SC, which is somewhere between Charleston & Savannah. The best pork around is at Dukes BBQ. I have included a review from another member.

Sorry. It's fast food. You can't get smoked pork in town. You have to go out in the country to get the real thing. It matters to me, but maybe not to others.

I love BBQ, so it pains me to say there's not much here worth the trouble, except for Sweatman's.
http://www.yelp.com/biz/sweatmans-bbq...If I were you, I'd check out places like SNOB, Cru Cafe, FIG, High Cotton, Hominy Grill for lowcountry specialties. Seafood dishes in Charleston are outstanding.

That is sort of what I suspected (I did a few quick searches but really didn't turn up anything), but figured it was worth asking. Thanks for the tip and I definitely intend to take advantage of the lowcountry fare primarily, but have never been to SC (or NC) so figured it was worth a shot...

I know there are good places in GA but I haven't been myself. If you are driving down through NC, take a look at the NC BBQ trail.
