Cafe or Restaurant with sizable Dessert Selection in downtown Toronto

mango_madness Jun 2, 2011 11:57 AM

I am looking for recommendations for a restaurant or cafe that has an decent array of desserts (pastries, cakes, ice cream, squares etc) in the downtown Toronto area, preferably near Union Station, Air Canada Centre, or Eatons Centre. I was considering Movenpick/Richtree at Yonge/Wellington or Hot House Cafe. Can you think of anything else? I am looking for a place that's open late on weekends.

The only other place that comes to mind is Tango Palace on Queen East at Jones. Usually they open until 11 on weekends.

Dessert Trends might work, though it's not near Union.
Open to 11p on Fri/Sat according to the site, so I'm not sure if that suits.

      Dessert Trends
154 Harbord St, Toronto, ON M5S, CA

The Counter (open 24 hours) and Beerbistro (open until 2am) have good selections of housemade desserts.

        The Counter

Pickle Barrel has lots of cakes and such (in Atrium on Bay).
