Creative, affordable restaurant reccomendations for scotch/bourbon lovers

My husband and I are coming in from Baltimore to visit my parents in Frisco next weekend. We are looking for a place for all of us to go eat for a special occasion on Sunday evening (Saturday will do in a pinch). Looking at the website and reviews of Abacus, that sounds like exactly what my husband and I like, however, my parents had a bit of sticker shock whem they went online.

Is there anything with a similar atmosphere and interesting food that costs about a third less? My parents are not that adventurous anymore where food is concerned, and certainly won't do sushi, but we don't want to be bored with the menu. They have enjoyed tapas a great deal when they have come to visit us. We also love good bourbon and single malts, so a place that has an interesting selection would be terrific. We are visiting Whiskey Cake on Friday, but looking for something else for Sunday night.

Thank you!..

Might be tough to find a place that meets all those requirements. The Second Floor restaurant at the Galeria has an inventive menu much like Ababus and what has to be the best scotch selection in town. Unfortunately the prices are about the same. It is closer to Frisco though.

Might try something at the Shops at Legacy.
