Eats near Santiago Park area of Santa Ana

We just bought a new house and will be moving very soon to the Santiago Park area of Santa Ana--this community, for those of you who may not be familiar with it, is directly east of Floral Park, situated southeast of, but very close to the intersection of the 5 and 22 freeways.
So...what do you like to eat within a 1-2 mile radius of our new home? I'm open to anything--divey ethnic, take-out, whatever the serious among you deems worthy of investigation...
The best tamales in Santa Ana (and a contender with el toro bravo for the best in OC period) are just down grand ave from you on grand and 4th at el grande bakery. The queso is a real treat. Just up the block is a pretty good salvadoran/Mexican place, Birria Jalisco. Here are the notes i took on the place:
Pupusas: Very good pupusa ($2.25 each). hand formed and griddle fried to order. cooked to a golden brown, with a slightly crisp exterior without even a hint of toughness. i ordered cheese and beans, you can order all the typicals (queso, loroco, chicharron, etc)... the curtido was passable. decent flavor, but not fresh. the salsa with the tacos was also the salsa for the pupusas. an extremely tasty mild orange salsa... not normal for pupusas, but very good nonetheless.
Tacos: As you'd hope from the name, the birria is very good. very tender, savory with a hint of sweet. tortillas aren't housemade, but the taco was good.
There are a ton more in the area of course. Every corner has a place waiting to be explored.
