Restaurant Suggestion for Girls only Reunion (5 people)?
Looking for a suggestion for a restaurant for this Sat. Party of 5, Girls only (the boys will be t home watching hockey on TV,) getting together after a long time apart. Lookng for somewhere we can linger for a while (LOTS to catch up on) preferably not too far from Yonge and Eg but any where near the subway or a little bit east fine too. One vegetarian. Ethnic food would hit the spot, nice ambiance, not too expensive. Been browsing for a while, want a hospitable place to catch up with good food. Ideas???

Thought I'd let you know how Tabule worked out. This suggestion was really great, right on the money. The location was convenient, and the price point worked for everyone in the group. Food was very good. Agree with the person who suggested that a meal made of two or three appetizers would have been a good choice (which I'd read that before I went). Lots of choice for the vegetarian. Best of all, we were able to linger over dinner and catch up in a leisurely manner. Perfect choice for our group and the occasion. Thanks again for to the collective brain trust that came up with this idea.

Had a great dinner at Tutto Pronto on Avenue Rd just north of Lawrence last night. Great local spot. Had mussels app in tomato sauce and we both had pasta. Pasta was fresh,
piping hot, generous portion and tasted great! My
Mom had seafood linguine and I had a spaghettini with zuchini, tiger shrimp, sundried tomatoes and spinach. We think it was a better than Grazie though Grazie has more pasta selection.
There was a table full of ladies that looked like they enjoyed their meal too. Will definitely
go back. Prices very reasonable too.-----

re: Theresa1
Enjoy your dinner with your friends! If I may make a suggestion -- go crazy on the appetizers and make that your dinner. There is nothing wrong with the regular dinner entrees (I do very much like their fried whole fish of the day), but Tabule particularly shines with their apps and salads. The added bonus is that a grazing dinner is always fun with a bunch of friends. I particularly like the fried cauliflower, garlic tomatoes, fatoush salad, tabule and hallumi salad. There are a lot more items of the menu worthy of noshing, but sadly, I'm rarely there with enough people to try them all!

Grazie is nice, also Alize, The Keg, Tabule is nice there will be a belly dancer Sat. night I think. They have a sick lentil soup and falafel for your vegetarian friend. I have lived here for 10 months and have been to Tabule at least 3 times, it is really good.

re: danionavenue
Sorry, I have to disagree on Grazie and Alize (though I haven't been there in a few years). Grazie is mediocre Italian food and the lineups are ridiculous. And how does The Keg fall into the category of ethnic food and suitable for a vegetarian?
