Downtown White Plains is Getting Sofrito & Pranzi

cubanat Jun 1, 2011 06:12 PM

Got some gossip today:

Mrs. Cappelli is opening up a "chocloates" store near 5 Guys Burgers.

Sofrito is yet to open in old Peniche Space.

Friends went to Pranzi for lunch and said it was terrific and very fairly priced...never even heard it opened. Website was decent enough: http://www.pranzirestaurant.com/
How many Italian resto's can one block bear??

Also word on street is that a new Italian market may go in where old sports page was. not a bad concept!

<<How many Italian resto's can one block bear??>>

The same could be said for all the pubs on Mamaroneck Ave. in WP.

Why can't someone just open up a Vietnamese place in WP and make everyone happy?

I would quite possibly kiss the feet of anyone who opened up a Vietnamese place, no lie. I miss pho.

We need more of a variety in the type of restaurants opening in white plains.

Have you been to Sofrito in NYC? I looked at the website and the menu looked pretty nice.
