  1. I'll eat any place solo that I would with friends, but I find it most comfortable when solo to eat at places with counters. So sushi is often my choice. What part of town are you looking at? I had a nice solo meal at the counter of the Hungry Cat recently.

    1. Very nice solo dining and great food at the bar counters at:
      Pizzeria Mozza
Osteria Mozza (right in front of the mozzarella bar)
      Animal
      and Chinos

      Chinois
2709 Main Street, Santa Monica, CA 90405

      Animal
435 N Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036

      Osteria Mozza

      1. I prefer counters as well, Animal & Son of Gun have great bar (small only seat 5-7) areas that serve the full menu.

        1. Don't know if you're talking about both lunch and dinner. But when I've had lunch at Providence,
there seem to be a numer of regulars dining alone at tables. BTW...they only serve lunch on Fridays. And I agree with the early comment....I would go anywhere alone that I would go to with friends.

          1. Most sushi bars are very solo diner friendly. Mori Sushi is great.
