Xida Corn Flavour Jelly, I'm puzzled.

I was recently given a grab bag of Chinese candy as a gift and was able to identify most things thanks to the packaging. One item in particular had me puzzled, Xida Corn Flavour Jelly. I was able to get its name and a photo by Googling "baby corn candy", which is basically what it is. I never thought of baby corn as a viable candy flavor and, after tasting one, I'm still not sure. The texture is a cross between a gummi bear and a circus peanut. The taste is akin to a baby corn dipped in Karo. I was repulsed and yet couldn't stop from eating the whole thing. If you have your own opinion I would love to hear it, but I'd really love to find out the ingredients. Is it possible to make a candy entirely from high fructose corn syrup?

I got one of these candies at a local Chinese restaurant, it came with the bill. Personally I found it very exciting and LOVE this kind of texture, Kind of super gummy like juju fruits.

Since tasting it I have been trying to find some for sale. But the restaurant said it was something they brought back from a wedding, and just added to their candy dish, lol.

Well, for one, Karo is corn syrup, as distinguished from HFCS. HFCS is a sweetener, the other is an ingredient that lends body (along with sweetness) to baked goods and candies. Just wanted to clear that up.
