Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Manhattan

Birthday dinner for 10-12 /moderate price

Hi,

Looking for a good place to have a birthday dinner for about 10-12 people in 2 weeks (so short notice). Birthday girl is a foodie, so need interesting/quality food but not too expensive.

Would appreciate any recommendations/ideas.

  1. You might get more responses if you're a little clear on the cuisine and more importantly, the exact price point you're looking for.

    I have seen group set menus done well at Stanton Social and Mercat. In general I think tapas restaurants can be great for large groups and if you control the ordering, costs can be kept pretty low. I have also gone to a good large group dinner at Maccelleria that wasn't too pricey.

    I'm sure if you give a specific price range, people on this board could give you some really helpful, specific recommendations.

    1. What InfoMofo said. You really need to define moderate. $50 per person before tax, tip, drinks/wine? More? Less?
