Without knowing anything about what you're looking for: NOPA, Laconda, Flour + Water, Frances, Betelnut, Capannina, Blowfish, Slanted Door and Marlowe are all SF favorites...some old ones, some new ones.

For one stellar brunch: brave the line at Mama's off Washington Sq Park. Never disappoints.

Where are you from, what are your price ranges, what are you looking for? Do you want *San Francisco* staples, or little neighborhood-y places? I can tell you that, taking value slightly into account (but some of these are expensive or very expensive) my 4 favorite restaurants for dinner in the city at the moment are:

      Perbacco
      Ame
      NOPA
      La Folie

But those four restaurants could not be more dissimilar. Really, they are each nothing like any of the others and they vary wildly in price and atmosphere.

So, give us some guidance as to what you are looking for and we'll be able to help some more.

Kidding aside, Saturday morning .1 miles from your hotel is a fabulous farmer's market and food extravaganza at the Ferry Plaza.

          Bring warm clothes!
You are going to have to give some parameters, how many? , how adveturous, driving or public transport. I would look at the last 4 or 5 times this question is asked in the past month because the general suggestions don't change much.
          Seriously, bring warm clothes!

Favorites, how much and how do you plan to get around. While San Francisco is fairly casual most places are "no shoes, no shirts, no service."
