Torrisi and Parm - once you get past the 'hype' they're still pretty darn good. (7 replies)

Torrisi's Italian Specialties. Only available at lunch. No reservations, so arrive as they open, order at the counter, and grab a table immediately.

Second vote for TIS, but keep in mind it's a Chicken Parm Sandwich, not a plated dish. Might not be what you're looking for.

i'll be the naysayer here and vote against TIS. i love their turkey sandwich, but the chicken parm is tasteless. had it once only, but wouldn't go back for it. could have been an off day...
unfortunately, i can't offer a better suggestion, but i'm interested to hear others. my sister-in-law also loves this dish and will be visiting soon.

Pietro's, in the east 40s, has an outstanding chicken Parma.

Two suggestions; The Palm (steakhouse) and Tony Di Napoli's. They're both great. Il Mulino, while very expensive for chicken parm, is also solid.

Accademia di Vino (I've been to the one on the west side, they also have an east side location), and Rubirosa both have excellent chicken parm.

Second rubirosa. Also piccolo angolo's was pretty good from what I remember (but it's been a while).
