Jevellie's or Rino's Place
So which place would you rather go? Food quality, taste, and portion size only. Just looking to eat a great meal. Rude waitress tacky decor not an issue.

Jeveli's is old-school as in, actually old. Like for senior citizens. It is tacky and the food isn't very good. It is "Boston's oldest Italian restaurant" and presumably the menu is a relic from a time when actually putting 100% Italian-American stuff would scare away non-Italians. So it's full of things like BLTs and clam chowder and "cajun chicken tips" and whatever. I think the lasagna was pretty OKish.

I haven't been to Jeveli's. I understand it's a typical old-school Eastie red-sauce joint. The menu would not have raised eyebrows in 1965.
Rino's Place is terrific if you stick to the daily specials menu, where the chef is truer to his Abruzzese roots; the regular menu is pretty pedestrian if well-executed American-Italian red sauce fare in big portions. (Plus: most of the pasta is made in-house.) But Rino's has attracted ridiculous crowds since its appearance on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives; three-hours waits are now typical on weekends. I would therefore avoid it unless you can go at lunch.
