GREAT restaurant for group of 15, Westchester

So, I am looking for a GREAT restaurant that can accommodate a group of about 15 people on a friday or saturday night in (preferably lower) Westchester. The occasion is a 30th Birthday and the crowd will be mostly 20-30 somethings with a few from the older generation, all are pretty serious foodies. Someplace sort of fun or upbeat a plus, but want to be able to hear each other speak. Food is the key though, nothing specific, just has to be good. Private room a plus. BYOB a HUGE plus (though nearly non-existent in westchester). No specific price point. Thought about Tarry Lodge, Don Coquis, Red Hat, X20......any other places around that fit the bill? Thanks in advance.

Have you considered North in Armonk?

Don't know much about North, their website doesnt give any info, do they have a private room or would be able to handle a party of 15 on a Friday or Saturday? How's the food?

I think the food is outstanding, probably the best food I've had in the area. Do a search here and you will see that most people agree (yes, their website is useless). They have a second room, I don't know how big it is, I suggest you give them a call. Personally I'm not a fan of Tarry Lodge, X2O is very good and the views are nice. I've wanted to try Red Hat but haven't gotten there yet.

Tarry Lodge, Red Hat, and X2O are all great but even for a small group you have to book them weeks and weeks in advance. If you plan ahead, any of those would satisfy foodies, and the views at Red Hat and X2O are unbeatable.

I agree on all of these suggestions. North is wonderful, but if you wanted to hear each other speak, I would request an upstairs table. Having only been there once, I am not sure whether the upstairs has an area to accommodate a private party. Of the two -- X2O or Red Hat -- I would say that x2O has the better food. It's a beautiful space with an outstanding view, and terrific food.
