Are there any deli's that make their own sauerkraut?

I've been reading about the health benefits of real sauerkraut (not the commonly available pasteurized kind) and evidently it's found in some deli's. Anyone know of any specific ones that have the homemade version?

The self serve pickle bar in Starskys is home made style also you can get homemade from Tymeks Natural Foods Ltd
    9 Advance Road
    Toronto, ON M8Z2S6

and if your really adventurous you could try making your own, it is fairly simple to do,
i never buy the stuff in a jar anymore.

Thanks, youdonut. I have seen recipes, but I think I'll stick to my Seville orange marmalade ventures. :)

Try Victoria's Eastern European Deli on Pape. Not sure if they make their own. Youc an call them and ask: (416) 423-7713

I bet Yummy Market on Dufferin near Finch would have lots of varieties as well at their ready made counter.

ABC Euro Deli on Sheppard & Pharmacy is a Romanian deli store that makes his own sauerkraut as well.

I'm part German so I loooooooove saurkraut. The good stuff takes hours to make and extract alot of flavor out of it -- what are the supposed health benefits of it? I could be wrong but isn't there a good bit of salt in it normally?

I suppose if you have no history of high blood pressure the salt won;t be a problem-if you use the minimum amount. The benefits are it boosts the beneficial flora in the digestive system, Dr Weil has a recipe and explanation. I'm going to ABC Euro Deli tomorrow to check it out.
