Hi. We're spending a week in Vancouver soon and I'd like to know where I can eat good dairy-free food. Love all types of food and are staying on Burard Street but hope to visit the rest of the city too. Also any top places I could eat and watch the Stanley Cup final games would be excellent.

  1. I had to be dairy free for a couple of years and my daughter has a dairy allergy. I have found that most restaurants can prepare some really great dishes without cheese/dairy. Some of the ones I have enjoyed downtown that have tv's for hockey: Hapa Izakaya on Robson (Japanese, not sure if yaletown one has tvs), Lupo (Italian, tv upstairs). Some other good places downtown that may or may not have tv's set up with good dairy free options are Peaceful Restaurant (Chinese), Juno Bistro (Japanese).

    1. I have a dairy allergy as well and as selena03 mentioned many restaurants in Vancouver can prepare dairy-free dishes well if asked.
That said, I would highly recommend Wild Rice on Pender for great dairy-free desserts (the coconut creme brulee in particular). Not a big fan of their regular menu but a great place for a cocktail and the aforementioned dairy free dessert menu in a loungey type setting.
