Mulligan's on 15th Ave - Great Burgers & Fries

We've been looking for great burger places, and this one must be one of the best kept secrets in Phx. Excellent meat and very reasonably priced. Freshly cut potato fries - e.g., real potatoe, not frozen - and very modest prices on a nice selection of beers. If you are in the Encanto area or want to treat yourself to one of the best burgers at the best price in Phx, you should check it out. Mulligan's is in the Encanto Golf Course clubhouse on 15th Ave just South of Thomas.

I've played the course, and seen the restaurant, but have never dined there. You made me want to try it.

My fav. is the Goldwater Grill at the Phoenix CC pool, in season, with the old Men's Grille being #2, though have not tried the burger at the new co-ed grille. However, as it's private, it's not on the general list. Gotta' dine at Mulligan's.

    Thanks,

    Hunt

Also the SW BBQ burger at the ASU Karsten course clubhouse is great. Big half pounder with nice fresh roll and thick cut fries. Worth a try if golfing with Sparky.

We play Karsten several times per year, but as I have never found any semblance of a "flat lie" on that course, usually feel too "beaten up," to be thinking about food. I am more often contemplating suicide in the lake at 18!

Still, thanks for the rec.. Maybe next round there, I can enjoy that burger. I am a big fan of BBQ with the burgers, especially with some smoky bacon.

        Thanks,

        Hunt

I agree on all counts. Standing on my head to make a shot off the side of a gallery hill is not a benefit to my game. The restaraunt has had its ups and downs over the years, but has always had good burgers and sandwiches, and a reasonable selection of beers, much more so than some smaller private courses.

OK, talked into it. Next round there, I will eat first. Maybe that'll help with those lies, especially if I add a brew, or two...

Being a burger-guy, I always appreciate good recs., even if they do not help my golf game.
