BurgerQue in Ft Myers

Had a Groupon for the Family Burger Bag at BurgerQue in Ft Myers. Picked up my brother at the airport and stopped here on the way home. We were very impressed. The burgers were excellent. The home made chips were better than Bert's in Matlacha! This will definitely be my go to place for burgers in Ft Myers. I'm looking forward to trying their Que: Pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. This is fast food - take out only. http://burgerque.com/
I saw the groupon. Guess I'll get one. What a great way to promote a new business. Groupon takes 50% of the gross and you have to offer at least 50% off, so it is expensive but very effective advertising. Thanks for posting your experience.
Thanks for the tip, I sometimes take 41 home from work and drive right by this place when I do. I'll put this on my list of places to check out along with that new mexican place on the other side of the road.
It's a pretty solid joint. The guy there knows his way around a brisket, that's for sure. I've yet to try anything else because I liked the brisket so much, and because that's the only barbecue I don't make.
I had a chance to stop by the other day. They were out of brisket (I'll have to go back again to try, I've yet to find great brisket anywhere in town) but I did get the chance to sample one of their burgers and some of the pulled pork.
The burger reminds me a lot of 5 Guys, maybe slightly smaller, but at a better price. The pulled pork was pulled in nice big chunks, and was very juicy. Most of the smoke flavor seems to come from their sauce, which is good, but I prefer a NC style vinegar and hot pepper sauce. Still, it's good Q, especially for those who like more of a KC style sweet and thick sauce.
BurgerQue has updated their menu and added some awesome stuff.
The 'Don't Mess With Texas' sandwich, which is pulled pork, brisket, spicy pickles, and sauce on a grilled cheese is awesome.
They've also added some new sides. The homemade chips are still addictive, but their gravy fries are a variation I've never seen before: fries smothered in breakfast-style sausage gravy. I have no idea why no one thought of this before, it's brilliant.
Make sure your Lipitor prescription is filled and check out the new items. This is one of the best additions to the greasy-spoon Ft. Myers food scene in years.
