Southern New England Chatham for one week

I wil be in Chatham in early June for one week and am looking for a few great suggestions for dinner and lunch. We like to have some variation in restaurants casual and more fine dining. We will travel about an half hour for dinner maybe longer up to an hour for a great lunch. Also what are the best food and produce stores in Chatham area? A few suggestions for dinner and lunch with kids would also be appreciated. Thanks!!

All great recs by Ann. I'll add Impudent Oyster downtown for slghtly upscale yet casual fare. The Squire for pub grub and local flavor, and Chatham Pier Fish Market for great lunches of lobster rolls, and fried seafood in a very casual waterfront locale. Also, make sure you don't miss Hangar B Eatery at the Chatham Airport for incredible breakfasts and lunches. Well worth a visit.

Thanks for the recommendations! I read about Brewster Fish House, Red Pheasant, Pisces and Fin any comments? Also can anyone recommend a good wine shop in or near Chatham?
I saw an article regarding Hangar B in one of my cooking magazines maybe Bon Appetit looks incredible.

I like Red Pheasant very well. I have not been to Pisces for years but back then it was good but the parking was tough. I like not love BFH unlike most people. I just have not been wowed there lately. Dying to try Fin. Hangar B is sublime.

I am thinking that my group would prefer dinner at a place with a view and great seafood. Since we are staying in Chatham and don't want to drive too far after dinner what about Ocean House or Cape Sea Grille? Anyone been to the Chatham Bars Inn-Beach Grille Clambake? Would this be a good thing for kids to attend?
Also thinking of Devon in Provincetown for dinner but is it worth the drive?

Ocean House is reliably excellent and has a terrific waterfront setting. Worth the drive IMO. Never been to Sea Grill so I'll leave that to others. CBI's Beach Grille is a beautiful spot and have had lunch there on a few occassions. The food's somewhat expensive given the setting and won't blow you away. It's all about the beachy view. I've never done the clam bake but in keeping with the rest of the Inn I'm sure it's decent and probably fun for kids too. If you want the best the Cape has to offer with a waterview, or anywhere for that matter, try 28 Atlantic at the Wequassett Inn a short drive tot Harwich from Chatham. It's very expensive and not very kid friendly, but ohhh sooooo good. A very special high-end place to be sure.

I used to go to Cape Sea Grille often but since then, they have new owners. Ciclista went in May and said it's very pricey and she is from Nantucket accustomed to high end. I love LOVE Ocean House. Love the bar and Bento boxes.

Yes, Cape Sea Grille was good, but not great, and very expensive. I had 2 apps, and we shared a bottle of Sancerre, and my share (incl tip) was $70. We just split the bill evenly among the 3 of us, and yes, my friends had entrees. We had originally gone ot Ocean House, but wanted the bar (no rezzies), the wait was one hour, and my friends were too cranky to wait.

Thanks for the heads up. I tried to set up the clam bake at the Chatham Bars Inn, but they don't start it until July 4 after that it's 3-4 times a week, too bad. They said they don't know of anyone else that doing a clam bake either. I am going to go for the Ocean House, sounds perfect great food, bar and view! I am very excited thanks so much.

My foodie friend LOVES Vinings Bistro. I enjoyed Del Mar. Also consider trying Buca's a great spot according to my dining buddy. There is a new cheese shop across from Del Mar. Also Nantucket Wild Gourmet and Smoked is great:

28 Atlantic is amazing but not sure how old your kids are and if they are accustomed to fine dining?

The Box Office Cafe is a MUST for pizza for the kids. Antoher fun pizza spot up the road is Ember in H'Port then Sundae School for you guessed it, ice cream.

Have a blast..get fudge at the Chatham Candy Manor.

Up the road in Orleans there are many great dining spots: Beacon Room, Mahoneys (I am not a huge fan but others love it), Sir Crickets for seafood or Captain Cass on the harbor.
