My husband has requested an ice cream cake for his upcoming birthday. Where can I get one that won't melt before I get it home. I live in Midtown East.

  1. where will you be traveling from?

    1. Sundaes and Cones in the East Village does freaking delicious ice cream cakes. I always get them for the holidays and you can get up to three flavors and any flavor they have. They also have tons of designs you can choose from but beware they are very expensive.

      1. I used to get a yummy cake at Haagen Daz. (sp?) Vanilla fudge with fudge icing. Our local store disappeared but I think there is one on First AVe. near 64th Street

        1. I've gotten ice cream cakes from Chinatown Ice Cream factory before. You'll be fine if you take a cab, plus you get unconventional flavor choices like peach, mango, lychee, green tea, red bean, black sesame.

          1. I know that Haagen Dazs overseas would pack some dry ice with ice cream cakes for travel. I don't know if they do that here in NYC.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know where to find ice cream cakes that aren't all ice cream? Like the kinds at Baskin Robbins, with both ice cream and real cake, but with higher quality versions of both?
