What is the best place to eat in Jackson Heights?

Meeting an old friend in Jackson Heights for lunch next week. Any recommendations for a great lunch place - any type of food is ok.

Has anybody checked out Phayul, the newish Tibetan-Chinese place, yet? Very curious about that one after spotting it from the street and then reading about it (http://www.ediblecommunities.com/quee...).

Also, I'm a fan of Bhim's Cafe (37th Rd.). Had a really nice cooked mustard greens dish there (seasonings were a mix of Indian and Chinese flavors), and they had interesting pickles that looked like they could've been homemade....

Thanks everyone for the responses. We wound up eating at Pio Pio and LOVED it. There are actually 2 Pio Pio's on the same block - one is the huge sprawling restaurant and the other is a small take out place with several tables. I went to the smaller one, not knowing there was the main restaurant and my friend was at the other place - luckily we had each others phone numbers and found each other.

Ayada, for outstanding Thai food. Though I think its not technically Jackson Heights. Pio Pio is also terrific, though just as good for take out.

Ayada, UFC (Unidentified Flying Chicken). What kind of food do you prefer?

I've recently fallen for Himalayan Hut on 37th Ave., b/n 75/76. No liquor license, but the food is amazing. I've eaten in trice and also ordered delivery. Very fresh and spicy. There are many other options for the neighborhood, though, so you should search around.

I also like Himalayan Hut. Another good choice is Nanking at 72-23 37th Ave. You can choose Chinese, Thai & Mughlai. I've had for lunch chilli shrimp, chilli chicken, veg manchurian and many other dishes all very good. Lunch specials include soup ($6.95 to $8.95). Nice atmosphere and service.
