Taam China Newton

This place suffers from the same idiocy as most kosher restaurants. "You'll eat it, like it, and put up with bad service and rude help because we're kosher and we know you'll come back."
If you decide to take out from this place, open and check every container before you leave. They'll insist they gave you the right food, when they routinely screw up what they put in.

I don't get here often, and I was disappointed that they did not take responsibility for messing up my takeout order (which was nothing fancy - it was supposed to be vegetarian spring rolls and chicken lo mein, and I got a vegetable egg roll and plain lo mein). I was already far enough out of the area (without a car, no less) that I couldn't go back to complain in person, but I did call to let them know. Because their kitchen says they made it right, it was right - in their view, and that I somehow made the mistake. Mind you, the carton specifically said "chicken lo mein" on it - and there was no chicken in it. And I know the difference in wrappers and filling between an egg roll and a spring roll.

    The food was good (really - it's rare for me to have an egg roll that is not at all greasy), but their customer service left a lot to be desired. Even if they had just said, "We're sorry for the mistake, but since you are not able to come back tonight, there is nothing we can do," I would have accepted it. But it does annoy me tremendously when a restaurant cannot take ownership of their errors, and that is why I'm posting here. Forewarned is forearmed!

      I have had a completely different experience - take out orders were correct and when I have eaten in the restaurant service was couteous and prompt.
